The
General Button
The General button lets you tell GenCat about
your business and contact information.

Pressing
the Upload button reveals the panel to the left. If you have
any questions about what to write in these fields contact your web
site hosting company and they can help you.
- Company
Background
- Company
Name - The name of the person, business or organization
who owns the catalog
- Store
Name - The name of the store- not necessarily the same
as the company name
- Web
Site URL - Your web site address (http://...)
of the home
page- NOT the catalog
- Catalog
Path - directory of the catalog (e.g. if your catalog will
be found at http://www.mystore.com/coolstuff/catalog/ then you
should enter: coolstuff/catalog
- Email
Address - The email address of the customer contact for
your store
- Phone
Number - The phone number of the customer contact for your
store

- Catalog
Keywords for Meta Tags - Keywords for search engines to
use to find your catalog
- Catalog
Description for Meta Tags - A short description for search
engines to display
- Catalog
Welcome Message - A paragraph or so about your company and
your store (you can add additional HTML here if you want) that
will appear on the main page of your store
- Logo
Image - The logo that you want to place around your store;
it should be subtle, so make sure it is not too large
- Background
Image - If you want a textured background instead of a solid
color, use this to add a background graphic to your store
- OK
and Cancel - Make sure
to press OK to submit changes
